There was a time I believed distance was just part of family life.

Growing up, I learned that love could feel uncertain.

Sometimes silence lasted for days.

Sometimes I didn't know what I'd done wrong.

Sometimes I simply waited, hoping things would go back to normal.

I know what it feels like to wonder whether you're still loved because nobody ever explained what happened after conflict.

Those experiences stayed with me long after childhood.

Long before I became a mum, I made a few quiet promises to myself.

That my children would never have to guess whether we were okay.

That conflict would never be the end of the conversation.

That love would never disappear when things became difficult.

Years later, when I became a mother to three beautiful daughters, those promises became the foundation of the home I wanted to create.

Not a perfect home.

A safe one.

One where my girls could make mistakes without fearing rejection.

One where hard conversations could end in repair instead of silence.

One where home always felt like somewhere soft to land.

But motherhood has also humbled me.

I've had moments where I've lost my patience.

Moments where I questioned myself.

Moments where I lay awake replaying conversations, wondering if I'd handled them well.

Like so many mums, I've realised that staying close to a growing daughter isn't something we're simply expected to know.

It's something we learn.

That realisation sent me on a journey to understand what truly builds lasting emotional connection between mothers and daughters.

Not just during childhood.

But through the teenage years and into adulthood.

Over the years I've combined lived experience, thousands of conversations with women, my background in coaching, and extensive study of human behaviour, communication and relationships to create what is now The Still Connected Method™.
